Sandalwood Fruit Oil

Wescorp has been working for a number of years to help establish a market for the oil extracted from the S. spicatum nut.

Our in house research scientist Dhanushka (Danny) Sugeeshwara Hettiarachichi (B.Pharm M.Pharm MRACI CChem) has made this his priority project and is completing his PhD candidacy at the Curtin University of Technology currently.

The subject is the Pharmaceutical Evaluation of Sandalwood Seed Oil. He is being supervised by Prof. V.B. Sutherland, Dr Yandi Liu and Prof. J.E.D. Fox.

Wescorp believes that by 2010, Western Australia will be producing in excess of 500 tonne per annum of spicatum seeds from established plantations and this will only increase.
